A Friend Who Understands Your Tears is Much More Valuable Than a Lot of Friends Who Only Know Your Smile
Fair-weather friends. We all have such friends in our life. They see our joys, our jubilations, partake in our festivities, and then fly away. They don’t stay behind to see the face behind the mask, the one that cries for help. But there are a few friends– there will always be a few- who would be there for you when you need them. Honestly, a friend who understands your tears is of much more importance than someone who would only be there for you when things are beautiful. I am not saying that you need to discard your fair-weather friends. But that you need to give your real friends more importance in life. They are the ones who will actually be there for you.
How To Recognise a True Friend Who Understands Your Tears?
The easy way? You will always find them there with you. They know your suffering, they have been there for you when you were undergoing that. They know how to take care of you- for they are the ones to give you a handkerchief when you need it the most. People who value your smile may not necessarily be your ill-wishers, but they are superficial. They don’t want to be a part of your inner strife, and you shouldn’t bring them into your fold. People who know your tears, a friend who understands you, wants you to be a part of their life. They find you valuable to their existence, and the least you can do is repay the favor.
A friend who understands your tears or your pain is much more capable of dealing with it. It means they are empathetic to your condition- they know what you are dealing with. They won’t brush it away, they won’t think it unworthy of their attention. They will try to talk to you, connect with you on a very intimate plane, where you will open up to them and tell them what it is that bothers you. A fair-weather friend won’t take all this effort- after all, why should they? They aren’t interested in your life any more than the glitz and the glam that you display.
A friend who understands you will make it their interest to see that your tears turn into a smile. Interestingly, they might be at the back of the crowd while you are being celebrated, but they will always be at the helm of things when you need someone around you to take care of you. They will take up the responsibility seamlessly, and they will never complain about it for a moment.
