Never stop doing your best just because someone doesn’t give you credit.

We, as human beings, are always looking for validation from others. It is the reason why you see people going to see people posting just about their entire life on social media these days. I am not trying to discredit the importance of social media by any means. However, what started as an important tool for communication and sharing has taken an entirely new meaning in recent times. Narrating your life, and sometimes even the most personal moments, to the entire world is not exactly what social media platforms were meant for. Looking for admiration, adulation, validation, and credit from others has become an integral part of our conditioning. It is a flu that has penetrated deep into our society, and the bitter truth is that it stems from the lack of self-love and self-confidence.

Whether it is a professional or personal life, one should strive to give their hundred percent. It is a habit that helps you stand out, and most of all, give a feeling of satisfaction inside. It is because even if you fail after trying your every best, you at least don’t regret that you didn’t try and gave it all you can. Don’t look for credit from elsewhere, or don’t try to prove anything to anyone. Try to beat yourself as it is what would help you to improve in the journey of life continually. Our attitude and actions are our responsibility. Just because someone is not giving you enough credit doesn’t mean we should stop being ourselves or be the best we can be.

Be yourself no matter what. Do strive to improve always and get rid of any negative traits or characteristics in you. But, do not change yourself for the sake of others. It is simply not worth it. People who love you don’t mind, and people who mind don’t matter. It is as simple as that. When you seek credit from others for your actions, you subconsciously give them the ability to ruin your efforts and happiness. It is commonly seen at most of the workplaces where employees are severely depressed or stressed out due to a horrible boss or superior. The employees continue to give their best, and yet the boss always tries to find a reason to discredit or find faults.

The simple way you can get rid of such negative vibes that you get from such experiences is to be yourself. You are you and let the boss be who he/she is. Do not let your self-confidence get affected by one or several individuals who cannot see how much effort you’ve put in or how much you tried. You need to be honest with yourself. At the end of the day, you should be able to look into the mirror and straight into your eyes without any guilt on your conscience. When you give your best in everything you do, the results are fruitful. Even if the results are not what you expected, at least it won’t snatch a good night’s sleep due to guilt.

People can be rude, cruel, and irrational at times, and it stops them from being grateful, kind, and sensitive to others’ emotions. You cannot change them, but you can change your attitude and perspective to fit such people into your lives without getting affected by their words or action. If you cannot step away from them due to some constraints, simply let it be. Do not, under any circumstances, lose yourself. In the journey of life, you’ll come across a wide variety of people, and it is essential to understand that not everyone would be kind or nice to you. Learn to be yourself and safeguard your emotions from getting drained or negatively impacted by people around you. When you are completely aligned with your inner-self, nothing external can penetrate that deep to ruin your day.
