When you feel like quitting, think about why you started.

Quitting and giving up is easy, but what it does to you would change your attitude and life forever. It weakens you mentally because once you face a challenge and quit, it becomes a habit. The next time you face a challenge, the thought of quitting would continue to linger at the back of your mind. Instead of quitting, if you remember the reason why you started, the entire dynamics of your efforts, your attitude and thought process would be different. It is because quitting is a negative emotion and action and would overwhelm your attitude. If you don’t correct it at the right time, it will continue to become a part of you.

Stay focused

However, when you stay focused on your goals and repurpose the negative energies that may develop as you face challenges to multiplying your efforts, it would help you get results sooner or later. When you start a business or a new job or take on just any endeavor, there is a fresh feeling of enthusiasm, positive energy, vision for success, and, most of all; you’re motivated. It is this feeling that you need to keep with you like move on in your journey towards your goals. Every time you face a challenge, irrespective of how big it is, remind yourself of the moment you started and how you felt that time. Close your eyes and visualize how it would feel when you reach your destination. Challenges play a trick with your mind and push it to the corner to make you feel like quitting, but don’t. It is not as hard as it may seem, and remember, the pain is temporary, and the greatness is forever.

Don’t give excuses

You must have heard many times that I couldn’t go to the gym because I was tired after coming back from college/office, or I couldn’t complete that project on time because of this or that. People give excuses all the time, and while some excuses are always genuine, most of them are just a way to pass the blame to something or someone for your failure. No matter how busy you are, how tired you are, how hard the challenges are, how early or late it is, there is always a way to do things that are on your priority list. Sorting out your priorities in life is essential to bring in clarity. Without clarity, life would be confusing, and it would be difficult to see through your goals. Getting derailed is very easy, whether by means of giving excuses or through other means when you don’t prioritize your goals in life. Stop giving excuses and do what you have to do to get to where you want to be.

Remember how badly you want it?

When you badly want to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself, nothing and no one can stop you. It is this desire to achieve your goals that would stop you from quitting and ensure you give in your hundred percent in everything you do. There would obviously be times when you’ll be knocked down or feel low in your journey. It is completely natural to feel that way, and don’t hesitate to pause for a while at such times. However, quitting is not an option when you want to fulfill your goals – whether it is losing those extra ten pounds on you, starting that new business, completing that impossible project, closing your first deal, starting a new website, getting higher education, or just about anything else. Go after it with all you got, and don’t look back. Don’t fear the challenges, and in time, the challenges would start to fear you. Always remember, winners never quit, and quitters never win.
