Best Way to Earn Respect is by Treating Others with Respect.

You need to earn respect and not demand it. The way to earn respect is through love, compassion, humility, kindness, and gratitude. You can never earn respect from anyone if you are rude and arrogant and don’t give others the respect they deserve. Life is all about getting what you give back, and if you give love and respect to others, it is what you’ll get back. People often misunderstand the concept of respect and wonder why the other person is not respectful towards them. More often than not, the problem may be with us rather than the others. It is essential to first analyze and identify the problems with our attitude and approach before belittling someone else.

Be grateful

Be grateful for what you have and where you are in life. When you are grateful for what you have and don’t complain – it is the law of attraction that applies to you. Being grateful for what you have is a positive sign that inculcates in you the positivity that balances your life in ways more than you can imagine. It helps you to understand the value of what you have and the people in your life. One of the best ways to gain respect from others is to be kind and grateful. When you are full of gratitude, your actions, and the words you speak reflects it. Gratitude is the sister of positivity, and it is these positive vibes that surround you that commands respect from others.

Be Kind

Practicing kindness is one of the best ways to earn respect from others. It is rightly said to treat others the same way you would want to be treated. When you treat others with respect, you’ll be treated the same way as well. Being kind to others is a way of showing respect and love, and you don’t only have to practice it with people, you know, be kind to strangers as well. Embed being kind, grateful, and polite in your personality, and it will help you go a long way in your life. It is what makes the person lovable and respectable in the community. You wouldn’t want to spend a minute with someone who is arrogant and proud, would you?

Be polite and respectful

Always go out of your way to make someone comfortable or help them, even if it is just an old lady you see at the grocery store who’s struggling to load her luggage in her car. Giving respect and being polite doesn’t cost you anything but can make the day of someone. What does being arrogant and negative does to your brain is way more dangerous than you can imagine. When you are arrogant, indifferent, and insensitive towards others, you lose their respect forever. If not checked and corrected at the right time, such behavioral traits can lead to broken relationships, loss of a job, and failure in business, and more.

Think about this way – you have the option to buy milk from two stores – at one store, the owner is very polite, friendly, and respectful, and at other stores, the owner is very arrogant, rude, and indifferent – where will you go? It is not about money or business; it is about treating other humans with kindness and respect. The store with the arrogant and rude owner eventually closes down due to his behavior, and he continues to think that it was the dirty trick that other store owners used to snatch his customers. Did he? No, when you are rude and arrogant, you think that you are perfect and right, while others are below your level, which is always untrue.

It is never too late to start

In the end, it can be said that you get back what you give, and if it is respect and love, rest assured you’ll get back more than you imagined. All humans are equal, and your wealth or position in society doesn’t give you the right to treat others unfairly. The real truth is that no matter how you’ve been all these years, it is never too late to change. If you think you have been disrespectful, unkind, ungrateful, and impolite towards others or someone, it can always be corrected. Better late than never!
