Nobody Has Your Back Like Your Mama…Love Her While She’s Still Alive.

mother

From the time a mother keeps a baby in her womb for nine months till the time she dies, her only focus in one way or the other is her children. She goes to any length, even at the cost of her own life, to protect her children, and it is well-documented in our history through the ages. The bond shared by a mother with her children cannot be described in words and is one of the strongest human emotions that exist. However, the mother doesn’t develop a habit to rely on her children as they grow up, but the children always know that they have a safety net in their life that would catch them whenever they fall in the form of a mother.

However, one of the problems in a relationship between children and the mother is that children often take their mother for granted as they grow up. It is this behavior that often hurts the mother as she doesn’t get the attention and love she deserves from her children. As a child grows up and makes friends, girlfriend/boyfriend, and goes on to get married, the love and attention that a mother gets continues to get depleted.

Often times, the children get so busy in their lives that they forget to include their mother in important decisions they are making, important milestones they are reaching in life, and even celebrations. However, life comes in full circle, and when the children feel depressed, lonely, and have nowhere to go, they find that mother is still right there behind them, just where they left her, with the same smile and same amount of love to give.

Children these days should realize and acknowledge the sacrifices made by a mother and her contributions in their life. At the same time, people should realize that just like they are getting older, their mothers too are aging. A mother is so caring that she doesn’t want to share the problems she might be facing in her life. She feels that it would disturb you at work or may cause inconvenience. It is our duty to check on their mother often and ensure that she is fine and has everything she needs. Acknowledging the fact that she is getting older and won’t be there forever would help you treasure her today, while she’s still there – when you can still call her and say how much she means to you, how much you love her, and how much you value what she has done for you.

Never be afraid of expressing your feelings to your mother and showing her love, because it is the only thing she expects from you the most. Expressing love to her won’t make you vulnerable, but would make her feel good. Do know that there are millions of people out there who long to say “I love you” to their mother or give her that tight hug, but unfortunately, they can’t because she has left for her heavenly abode. Show your love to your mother while you still can because one day, you make wake up and be snatched of that opportunity. And, the regret it will fill you with would be too painful to overcome.

Don’t get complacent in loving your parents. They would never show how much they miss you and would let you go on with your life, but it is your duty to ensure you are around when needed. Give love to your parents unconditionally, just like they do, and let them know that you care and miss them equally if you can’t be around too often. Many people will come and go as you move on with your life, but you’ll never find a substitute for your parents. It is because no one can love you like your mother and father, and it is important to respect and love them while they’re still around. They won’t be there by your side forever but do know that it is a blessing if they are today. Treasure your parents while they are still here, while you can still hug them, say them I love you because if you don’t today, it might be too late tomorrow.
