Don’t Close the Book When Bad Things Happen in Your Life, Just Turn the Page and Begin a New Chapter

Don't close the book when bad things happens in your life.

Life is not a fairytale, and there would be times when you just want to hang your boots. The hard times offer life lessons, but at times, the grief is too much to make sense of anything or learn any lessons. Grief is very personal, and it is good for the soul as it is a form of respect for the pain you’re going through, but one should realize that what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. Isn’t it?

This too shall pass

Life is a weird combination of good times and bad times, and what you choose to focus on more depends on you. What you focus on more also has the potential to define you and your state of mind. Focus more on good times, and you’ll be happier and vice versa. There would be times in life when you would be down and out, but don’t get drowned in the sorrow that it might put you in. It is completely fine to feel sad and depressed at times when you face tough times.

It is what makes us all human, but how you choose to react to such situations is what defines you and helps you grow. Do not succumb to bad times, but rise stronger each time. Time heals everything and does know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Just like every other tough time in your life, this too shall pass.

Life Is A Book

Ups and Downs are Part of Life

Life would be so boring if it follows the same path, and there are no ups and downs in the journey. Celebrate the good times and learn from the bad times. Ups and downs are part and parcel of life. It is what makes this rollercoaster journey of life so interesting and worthy of living. Always hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Learn from your mistakes and move on. It is what would make you stronger and wiser with time, and ensure that you rise and shine in this test of life.

Take One Day at a Time

When bad things happen in your life, you will be overwhelmed with grief, sorrow, and sadness. Do not loom over what happened and neither define or visualize your future from the current state of mind. It will only look dark when you visualize it from the depressed state of mind. What you need to do is to make a plan, stick to the plan, and take one day at a time. It will get better with time.

Moving on is Difficult, Not Impossible

When you lose someone close to you or you fail in a job, or a business that was so dear to you or any such big tragedy occurs in your life, it feels like everything is finished. The initial blow is always overwhelming, and there is no doubt that it hurts a lot. It takes a lot of courage to get up, pull up your socks, and get back on the track.

Undoubtedly, it will take time, but remind yourself that life is long, and just like the bad time you just went through, there is a stream of good times waiting ahead of you. Motivate yourself to get over the pain, and if needed, talk to your friend and family members. It is okay to confide, cry, and even go for counseling. It is difficult, not impossible.

Start from Where You Are

Beginning a new chapter of your life after a bad chapter has ended can be really challenging. It takes every part of you to pull you back in the right direction. However, where there is a will, there is always a way. The first step is to be willing to move on, and the rest will fall into place sooner than later. Start afresh from wherever you are in life. Don’t worry about being late or early, just start!

Don’t Cling on to Past

Past can never be forgotten, whether it is the good times or the bad. It is actually good to remind yourself of the challenges you’ve faced and how you overcame it and came out stronger. It is what will motivate and inspire you to take on every challenge that life puts you through strongly. However, do not cling on to the past and drown in it. It is what leads to stress, anxiety, and depression. Focus on the present and believe in the power of ‘now.’
